The long-awaited sequel (legacyquel?) to Disney's 1982 experiment in embracing computer-generated animation is dazzling to the eyes and ears, with Daft Punk taking over for Wendy Carlos to provide the soundtrack, but the story is the worst kind of male fan service. Garrett Hedlund stars as Sam Flynn, the son of Jeff Bridges’ Kevin Flynn. Sam must investigate his father’s disappearance by going where he went, into The Grid. Olivia Wilde sparkles as Quorra, an "isomorphic algorithm," warrior program who helps Sam defeat the evil dictator Clu (also Bridges but de-aged to look like he did in 1982) from crossing into the real world.
