The fact that the subject here is often so hostel and insecure, and that the filmmaker knows when to focus on this, when to cut-away, and when to provide context, makes this movie a cut above the typical celebrity biodoc. Still, the film doesn't dig deep enough to really explore what made Chase's comedy so unique and hilarious and how his personal demons may or may not have played a role in that.
