Samara Weaving stars as a young woman who must play a life-and-death game with her husband's wealthy family on her wedding night, a tradition all who marry into this board game dynasty must potentially endure. The premise is a clever and truthful analogy for what it can be like for someone of modest means to suddenly enter a family of 1%'ers. But satire and horror are too silly to have any real bite. Much of the dialogue is so on the nose it undercuts the script's metaphorical insights. And when someone is crushed by a dumbwaiter early in the proceedings, it's hard to take any later deaths very seriously.

Satirical horror thriller about a young woman who must play a life and death game with her husband's wealthy family on her wedding night is a fun and truthful metaphor for marrying into the 1% but horror and humor are too on the nose to have any real bite.
