Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to the screen in this silly but entertaining action picture that plays like an overblown, contemporary, Rio Bravo-style western. While the narrative logic is flimsy, and Arnold is a totally ridiculous choice for the part of small town Arizona sheriff, the result is a sufficiently satisfying picture with just enough pace, humor, and visual style to deliver the goods as a comeback picture for the former “Governator”. The fact that Schwarzenegger is older, slower and creakier doesn’t hinder the film one bit--it actually gives it character.
