From Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice) comes this fairy-tale cum action thriller about a female teenage assassin. Saoirse Ronan is the star and best aspect of the movie.  She makes you care about this child raised to be a killer far more than you probably would with a lesser actress.  Wright is no Luc Besson, and his film is neither a super-fun entertainment nor a deep mediation on anything, but it does have a lot of good sequences--and I’m not just talking fight scenes or action set-pieces.  In fact, Hanna is best in its quiet moments.  If the film built to a more satisfying conclusion, it might have been a better “good” movie.
