This terrifically absurd idea for a genre mash-up completely misses the mark.  This could have been a very cool film that brought together the best aspects of the western and sci-fi genres--as the promising early scenes of close-encounters in the old west demonstrate.  Unfortunately, the movie quickly disintegrates into a stillborn, overly long, and humorless blunder.  As the cowboys, Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford don’t deliver on expectation. As for the aliens... what has happened to genre-movie creativity in Hollywood?  The film is not unpleasant to sit through, but with seven expensive screenwriters and an insane number high-powered producers involved, one would think we’d have gotten more than this.
